How it Works

Clomid works by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus. As a result, it helps to increase the production of luteinising hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone in the brain. Clomid causes an increase in the production of oestrogen (that is, a hormone that stimulates the growth of ovulatory tissue) which causes the ovaries to release an egg. This process causes the testes (follicles) to swell and mature (oedema).
